Tip Tuesday/Thursday comes to Tumblr!

From these eight of ten weeks as an intern for Penklor, a Real Estate Investment Company, I’ve not only learned a lot about Real Estate but learned some tips that are useful to any home owner. I’ve taken the reigns on Tip Tuesday/Thursday, tipping our followers on Facebook and Twitter about home remodeling and renovation.  It is scary and exciting deciding to change up your home with a renovation or a remodel and the tips I find and post to Twitter and Facebook are helpful.  The tips posted are focused on renovation and remodeling kitchens and bathrooms; focal points of any house whether looking to sell or hosting company.  Remodeling not only can change and freshen up your home but also can be an investment, possibly increasing your home value. An important key to remodeling is always plan twice, renovate once. There is nothing more frustrating than a bad renovation and wasting money. Space is a key factor when it comes to a home’s value and when looking to renovate, see if there is a wall that can be taken out to increase the space. This can make for a more attractive home and common area. The most important tip I can give about remodeling in general is let there be light!!! Bright rooms draw eye contact and attention. Try taking out a wall in the kitchen or living room increasing space in the most popular rooms of the house. This can decrease headaches from constantly running into something and you will be more willing to host company for 4th of July!  Websites like HGTV can be helpful and have been a very influential website, giving tips and picture ideas for bathroom and kitchen renovation. Pinterest has also been another great website for ideas. Looking through Pinterest home remodeling pictures gives an idea that may become a reality in your home. Just searching through Google home remodeling tips brought me to websites like National Assoc. of Remodeling Industry. They have a great list of tips for different kinds of remodels. I know remodeling can be expensive and pockets change might be tight but it is important to keep your house updated. Better to renovate somewhat often than have to renovate the entire house at one time causing a huge blunder in the bank account. Therefore, budgeting is key to all renovations. Keeping it simple is a way to save money while not falling into the rut of renovating an area that in ten years will look dated. Instead, spice up the remodeled area with decorations that define the times because it’s easier to change decorations than the whole area. So what are you waiting for? Now is the time to start a renovating maybe a bathroom or kitchen in your home.
